Benjamin Pearson - Channel 5's Police Interceptor

When the opportunity to work with Ben arose, we jumped at the chance! Famed through the Channel 5 hit TV show, Police Interceptors, where Ben appeared in 3 consecutive series as one of West Yorkshire Police's elite, he quickly became a familiar face in many UK households.

Fuelled by his passion for high performance vehicles, and all too familiar with the devastation caused by the theft of them, Ben wanted to be actively involved with the promotion of effective vehicle security products - many of which he has first-hand experiences with. Partnering with Ben and drawing on his experience as a Traffic Officer, you will see us appear in various YouTube videos discussing the most common methods of theft and the most effective products to combat them.

Safe & Sound Vehicle Systems are proud to partner with Ben. We hope that his support of our company, our ethos, and our products display a real sense of security when choosing us for your vehicle security installation. Through our partnership, we hope to raise awareness and funds for Ben's charity, 1965 PTSD Awareness

Ben's Story

After serving 19 years in the Road Policing Unit for West Yorkshire Police, Ben was medically retired due to being diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and anxiety. This illness was brought on over the length of his career, where his role saw him on-scene dealing with fatal traffic collisions, car fires, suicides and other traumatic events on a daily basis

While we loved watching Ben at work from the comfort of our living rooms, it is his achievements beyond West Yorkshire Police that impress the most. Ben has taken the time to document much of his Police experience in a number of books; the first, "Handcuffed Emotions", went on to be a bestseller, along with his second book, "Hotel Tango 23". Crucially, he also documents his experiences through his YouTube Channel "Ben Pearson", often sharing harrowing stories of catching burglars, thieves, rapists and murderers. Ben's episode entitled, The Job that BROKE ME is one that really hits home, documenting what emergency service personnel endure on a day-to-day basis, and Ben's ever increasing mental battle to stay on top of it while in active service.

Ben also has a successful podcast series on Spotify called "I've got your back". His guests include everyone from victims of terrorist attacks to Special Forces Operators. Each episode sees them sit down and talk through their life experiences in fine detail.

1965 PTSD Awareness

Bradford born; Benjamin Pearson always dreamed of joining the police to help others. He joined West Yorkshire Police, his local force in 2001 aged 25. He began his career out on patrol and as a tutor constable training new officers before joining the special operational and Roads Policing Unit. Pearson, a familiar face on Channel 5’s popular TV series Police Interceptors, dedicated 19 years to serving and protecting the public, his community, before he was forced to give it all up and retire in October 2020 due to ill health and work-related PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

Father of two, Ben now aged 45, still has that same dream of helping others, however this chapter involves Ben exchanging his baton for the mighty pen and taking up a new role out of the uniform that was his identity for almost two decades. Ben is now an successful author, motivational speaker and YouTuber, sharing his life and work experiences  the ups and downs of policing, living with PTSD, and coping with the stigma attached to mental illness.

In November 2021, Ben teamed up with his close friend Dan who has worked within the print and design industry for over 30 years to create the brand “1965 PTSD Awareness'. Both Dan and Ben are massive advocates of mental health, and are proud to promote this in their clothing range.
